Commando 2 movie review
Commando 2 marks the return of the death-defying stunts (which is done by Vidyut himself without using harness or stunt double) and plot twists that hold you on the edge of your seat. Commando 2 movie review
In commando 2 Karan, become a member of the Special Cell, stretches his ‘one-man army’ performance from the previous film. When Vicky Chaddha, the go-to black money launderer for all the corrupt nets and businessmen is arrested in Malaysia, a special team is assembled to bring him back. ACP Bakatawar (Freddy Daruwala) is the head, as mentioned above the team has encounter specialist and hacker Zafar Hussain and Karan, fashionista Bhavana Reddy (Adah Sharma). Vicky’s hot wife Maria (Esha Gupta) convinces Karan that they are being made a victim because somebody needs to be made the bad guy. Is there more to their story than appears the eye?
Vidyut has great screen appearance and owns most of the action scenes. If you think you had seen it all when Vidyut somersaulted over a moving car, your breath will stop while watching commando 2, when he slides under one. But after a point, the elongated gun battle starts to feel like a game of Counter Strike.
It is hard to take Adah Sharma seriously when she keeps talking about how she cannot wait to leave her duty and start shopping at the mall, although Commando 2 tries hard to show her as more than just a dull girl. Esha Gupta as the mysterious woman in distress does a good job, while Freddy Daruwala performs his strength, the baddie. But Vidyut is the one who carries the commando 2 on his shoulders. Demonetization is cited in passing in one dialogue. Given that Commando 2 spins around the hunt of black money, a little more of the thought could have been explored. Commando 2 movie review
It seems like debutant film director Deven Bhojani learned from the flaws of Commando, and disturbing songs do not distract from the fast paced cat-and-mouse game that plays out on the big screen. The big song of the film, the remixed Hare Krishna Hare Ram (originally from Akshay Kumar’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa), comes in the end of the movie.
Commando 2 does not traverse a novel theme – it’s the traditional good vs evil – but the high-voltage action scenes make this an exciting one for fans of the genre.
