This time I am going to share my travel experience of Patnitop.  Patnitop is located 112 km away from Jammu on Jammu-Srinagar highway. The beauty and tranquility of this humble plateau is simply unmatched. There is no place better than Patnitop in Jammu Kashmir if you want some time just with yourself, away from the city chaos. I have not seen any hill station before this visit. I left my home 40 mints before to reach railway station as I have to travel in Pooja express, this train connect to Jammu   from Jaipur. It runs daily at 16.00 pm from Jaipur and reach next day Jammu railway station at 08.00 am. Patnitop – Best Hill station near Jammu

This train is not so good as cleaning was not good in coaches, I have made booking in 2nd ac for my small family. We were so excited to see this hill station as we have not seen any hill station. Patnitop – Best Hill station near Jammu

After 16 hours journey we reached at Jammu, it is called Jammu tawi railway station, it is last stop of this train and after this we have to take taxi to go further. We have already booked cab to reach there.

The weather was pleasant in Jammu, it was due to raining last night. Now our cab was moving from Jammu towards Patnitop, my cute kids was also looking the beauty of this place thru window.  We all were breathing fresh air of hill area. My cab was moving at 40 speed because we can’t drive vehicle speedy on hilly area.

After four hours travel we reached  Patnitop at 11.30 am , we have already booking in Holiday Inn , this hotel is situated at very good place in Patnitop, from where we can see all nature beauty.

We were warm welcomed at Hotel reception and after some formality room allocated us. After lunch we decided to take rest for some time to relax our body. Patnitop – Best Hill station near Jammu

We got up at 6 pm evening and temperature was down now, we were feeling some cold now. We wear winter cloth to save ourself from cold and move out from hotel to see outside view. Kids were playing in hotel garden and enjoying their trip. Some small restaurant, hotels and cottage were there around the hotel and people were moving here and there and enjoying their visit. Patnitop – Best Hill station near Jammu

 

Next day morning, we got up around 8 am and when we down the curtain from window the outside view was amazing. After breakfast, we moved out to see nearby places – Naag Temple, Chinar Garden, Skating Park, Nathatop, and Sansar Lake. Patnitop – Best Hill station near Jammu

In evening we come back to hotel and we were feeling fatigue now.  We taken dinner around 9 pm and went to sleep.  Next day we have to move from Patnitop to catch train from Jammu. Patnitop – Best Hill station near Jammu

My train was on right time and we also reached on time at Jammu railway station.  We were quite pleased to have visited this place. Patnitop – Best Hill station near Jammu

How to Reach Patnitop

By Air – The nearest civil airport is at Jammu. The distance between Jammu and Patnitop is around 112 km and it takes around 4 hrs to cover the distance by road.

By Rail – Closest railway station is Jammu Tawi is also in Jammu. The distance is 112 km.

By Road – Road The town is well connected to all major cities of Jammu and Kashmir by state road transportation. Busses are frequent to Patnitop especially from Jammu.

Local Transport
Buses are the main mode of transport inside the town. Taxis and private coaches are also available for hire.
